The Family Community Partnerships Coordinator ensures active and meaningful participation by Early Head Start/Head Start families, to ensure a high-level of staff awareness of community resources by collaborating and networking with agencies in the community; to ensure staff, children, and families have access to resources.

Position hours: Full time 40 hrs per week | On-site position

Family Community Partnerships Coordinator Responsiblities 

  • Assist the Family Community Partnership manager in maintaining a database of social services and other resources and provide that information to staff and families as needed; collaborate with and do outreach to social services agencies to form formal and informal partnerships to meet the needs of the families and children in the program
  • Ensure that a family-strengths/family-centered practice is understood and followed by staff.
  • Support the Family advocate, Center manager and classroom staff in ensuring Family Committee activities are coordinated and offered monthly
  • Assist in the coordination of any other program option/center based family related events/activities.
  • Conduct continuous monitoring and evaluation of activities within the program to assure that family’s needs are being met.
  • Works with FCP manager to ensure a system for the implementation of family partnership agreements and the tracking of referrals, individual contracts, and follow-ups.
  • Assist Family advocates to recruit parents to participate on advisory committees and advising the Policy Council on program operations, training opportunities and providing technical assistance, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all performance standards and regulations.
  • Serve as a member of a community committee/attend community meetings as a representative of the program as needed.
  • Must be involved in ongoing professional development.
  • Coordinating workshops and resources around professional development for Wu Yee staff.
  • Participate in Multi-disciplinary meetings as needed in support to center-based/ program option staff
  • Attend IFSP/ IEP meetings in support to family and FA as needed
  • Has knowledge of CPS reporting and ability to update staff of CPS reporting changes and requirements
  • Provide coaching to FAs on providing strengths-based and family-centered practices to meet the HS performance standards
  • Partner with Center Managers in evaluating and addressing center-based family and community partnerships
  • Work in collaboration with other content areas to help support the needs of the program and families
  • Support the implementation of the Parent Family Community Engagement (PFCE) framework
  • Support the linkage of the PFCE framework to the agency’s School Readiness goals
  • Support FCP manager to monitor family services resource and referrals in Childplus.net.
  • Maintain regular communication with appropriate program staff and families to facilitate effective program performance and ensure that significant family information is shared, including but not limited to: family goals, issues, concerns, challenges, and successes.
  • Monitor the information in child’s files and in ChildPlus to reflect accurate and most current case records, family and emergency contacts, health, and family-partnership requirements
  • Develop family partnerships to empower families in identifying strengths and needs to set realistic goals for themselves and their family
  • Other duties as assigned

Family Community Partnerships Coordinator Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
  • MA in Child Development, Social work, Psychology preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with children and families in a social service agency
  • Ability to work with and understand unique issues of families with infants, children with special needs, and pregnant women
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to work with and coordinate services with other community and government agencies
  • Familiar with San Francisco community resources

Physical position requirements; machines and/or equipment used:

  • Must be PC literate; MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer,photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.)
  • Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
  • Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
  • Close vision required for computer usage.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb, and lift 5-10 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Work entails typical physical demands involved in office work.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary $88,000 - $91,350 per year.
