Wu Yee is the largest provider of early childhood education in San Francisco, we have 12 child development centers in the communities where Head Start is most needed. The Facilities Specialist's primary responsibilities include repairs and maintenance of all functional and cosmetic aspects of Wu Yee facilities.

Skills and responsibilities:

  • Proficiency with power and hand tools.
  • Repair and provide maintenance of all functional and cosmetic aspects of center's physical plant.
  • Perform painting, taping, patching walls, sanding, caulking, light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement and fixture installation in multiple locations.
  • Ensure maintenance of minor electrical and plumbing needs.
  • Purchase materials used in the job function on a cost conscience basis.
  • Submit monthly expenditure forms detailing items purchased.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to Chief Operations Manager, Assistant Project Manager and Center Managers.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize maintenance and repair work.
  • Accountable for submitting appropriate expense forms.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environement.
  • All other duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in construction, carpentry, building maintenance and/or handyman capacity.
  • Valid CA driver's license.
  • Occassional weekend work may be neccessary.
  • Abililty to lift in excess of 50 Lbs, and, stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items. Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary starting at $31.00-$33.00/hour
